A 33-year-old man is dead following a Saturday-evening collision.
Saturday at 6 p.m., Crowsnest Pass RCMP detachment members were dispatched to a single-vehicle ATV collision on a remote trail in the Dutch Creek area north of Crowsnest Pass. Crowsnest Pass Fire and Emergency services, along with STARS, also attended to assist.
According to the RCMP, investigators determined a southbound side by side ATV, with four occupants, left a remote trail and rolled several times down a steep embankment. As a result of the injuries, emergency services transported a two-year-old boy, who was one of the passengers, via ground ambulance to Calgary Children’s Hospital, where he is being treated for his injuries. Â
The driver of the ATV, a 33-year-old man from Okotoks, was transported to hospital by STARS with life-threatening injuries, where he later succumbed to his injuries, and died on Sunday.
The remaining two passengers were treated for minor injuries at the scene, according to the RCMP, as police added alcohol was not a factor in the ATV collision.
Police added the name of deceased will not be released at this time, as Crowsnest Pass RCMP are continuing the investigation.
