Lethbridge Regional Police Service continues to investigate after it was reported a 13-year-old boy was assaulted Tuesday evening while playing at a school playground.
On July 7 at approximately 8:26 p.m., the boy was at a playground along the 400 block of 20th Street South when he was approached by three older males who were unknown to him, according to police. The victim reported he was punched in the face and stomach and choked. The suspects, who are believed to have recorded the assault, fled the area on bicycles.
Police attended and conducted a search but did not locate anyone matching their descriptions. The matter remains under investigation and police are currently waiting to receive video surveillance from a nearby school.
The suspects are described as two larger males, about 17-years-old, wearing maroon t-shirts with lighter brown, scruffy hair, and one younger male, about 13-years-old, with a smaller build, wearing a black t-shirt and a black bike helmet.
