Lethbridge Regional Police Service has charged a 19-year-old man in connection with a vehicle rollover collision during the early-morning hours.
This morning just before 3 a.m., police responded to a report of vehicle rollover along the 600 block of 9 Avenue South.
Investigation determined a Pontiac Sunfire was travelling eastbound on 9 Avenue South when the driver lost control and struck two west-facing parked cars. The impact of the collision caused the Sunfire to flip onto its roof, trapping the driver under the vehicle.
The driver had to be extricated from the wreckage by Lethbridge Fire/EMS and was transported to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. An unidentified passenger, believed to be uninjured, left the scene on foot prior to police arrival.
Abdikhadar Osma Farah, 19, of Lethbridge, is charged with impaired driving and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. Additional charges are anticipated, police added.
Anyone with information about the collision or the identity of the passenger is asked to contact police at 403-328-4444 or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477. Anonymous tips can also be submitted online at http://www.tipsubmit.com
