Lethbridge Regional Police Service and the Lethbridge Fire Department are investigating a suspicious fire that destroyed two vehicles and damaged a north side business.
Monday at approximately 4:45 a.m., police and firefighters responded to a fire behind a business along the 1200 block of 2A Avenue North. Upon arrival, a mini-van was found to be engulfed in flames and the fire spread to a cutaway van parked beside it. The fire department subsequently extinguished the fire and no one was injured, according to police.
In addition to the vehicles, approximately $30,000 worth of woodworking tools inside the cutaway van were damaged, and the Woodloft building was also damaged. Total damages are estimated at more than $50,000.
Police added the investigation is ongoing.
