The Galt Museum and Archives’ Flashlight Cemetery Tours are back starting this weekend.
The 50-minute guided tours of Lethbridge’s oldest burying ground, St. Patrick’s Cemetery, are designed for people who love to experience the history they weren’t taught in school, says Belinda Crowson, Galt Museum educator.
“Cemeteries are integral to the story of every community for there are recorded the lives of the people who built our towns and of our community itself,†Crowson said.
“Walking through the rows of graves we catch a glimpse of the realities of people’s lives, whether short or long, rich or poor, and we have a visual, palpable reminder of how we are all connected.â€
Tours will be held today, Saturday, Oct. 3, 8, 9 and 10 at various times after sunset. Tickets are $5 for the public and $4 for annual pass holders at the Galt Museum store.
