Friday morning at 9:27 a.m. police responded to a call from a citizen who witnessed two suspicious persons walking on Stafford Dr. N. near the train tracks and one individual was carrying a rifle.
Police responded immediately to the area and were treating the call seriously with the belief that the weapon was real and fully functional.
Witnesses observed the two subjects enter a nearby business on 2A Avenue north. Two youths were identified inside the business as the subjects involved in the incident.
One of the youths admitted he had the gun and showed police where he had left it. The gun was found to be a Daisy lever action BB gun. The gun was seized and no was injured in the incident.
The youth had been previously released on a Youth Justice Court Order with conditions not to possess any weapons, firearms, or ammunition. He was subsequently charged with failing to comply with the Court Ordered Disposition.
The name of the youth will not be disclosed.
