Streets Alive Mission needs your help.
In exchange you can eat wings.
Have a Wing Ding of a good time while helping people reach their ‘Road to Recovery’ through the essential programs offered at Streets Alive Mission, and help bring HOPE to those in need.
On Tuesday, everyone is invited to join Wing Ding – described as an evening of food, friends, and fun, complete with dinner, dessert, auction, games, and lively entertainment, all in support of Streets Alive Mission.
The Summer Wing Ding, Streets Alive Mission’s main fundraising event for the summer, usually sells out, and tickets must be bought in advance.
This year, there will be a new way to contribute to the life-recovery services. It is called the Recovery Challenge.
People can “purchase” undergarments, meals, counselling hours, trusteeship support, and recovery core support, through live and mobile bidding. Participate by texting STREETS to 587-800-4221, click on the link texted back to you, and follow the instructions.
“Wing Ding is about raising funds for our core basic programs that assist us in building relationships, so that we can help people reach the Road to Recovery,” said Pastor Ken Kissick, Streets Alive Mission’s co-founder, in a news release.
“Recovery is real, and these programs are essential to helping people achieve recovery. We are excited about our Recovery Challenge that is available even to those who can’t attend.”
Wing Ding runs Tuesday at the Enmax Centre. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with dinner at 6 p.m., and the auction to follow. The $40 tickets can be bought online at streetsalive.ca/wingding18.
