Claresholm Fair Days are underway with the annual community festival set to run through this weekend.

Today’s lineup of events include a lunch charity barbecue, steak supper, test and tune by the Rocky Mountain Drift Club, a family movie night at the Aquatic Centre, as well as the start of the weekend slo-pitch tournament.

The annual Bench Show, which is being held this year at the Claresholm Community Centre with the town’s arena currently undergoing renovations, is accepting entries today from 9-11 a.m., including items such as arts, crafts, baked goods and garden produce. The show itself opens at 6 p.m. featuring a pet show at 7 p.m.

Saturday’s main events include the parade and third annual 49th Avenue Street Festival.

The day starts with two separate pancake breakfasts, as well as a beef-on-a-bun lunch, tea at the museum, all ages pickup slo-pitch and an evening coffee house. The Rocky Mountain Drift Club will be hosting events in town and at the airport.

The weekend wraps on Sunday with another pancake breakfast, an interdenominational service at the community centre and the Porcupine Hills Classic Cruisers hosting a show and shine at Centennial Park.
