Due to the recent change in weather conditions, Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services has lifted the fire ban for the city’s river valley.
The fire ban was put in place July 17 following an extended period of dry hot weather.
Precautions should still be taken when having fires, the City of Lethbridge said in a release.
On Thursday afternoon, Lethbridge County also lifted its fire ban imposed on Aug. 9.
Fire permit applications are again being accepted by the Lethbridge and Picture Butte offices, as well as through the Lethbridge County website and County app.
Some debris is not permitted to be burned under Bylaw #1424, including rubber, plastic and other items.
