A man has been charged with drug trafficking after a targeted vehicle search by police uncovered an alleged illegal drug operation based in a west Lethbridge home.
Last Friday, following a short-term investigation into drug trafficking activity, Lethbridge Police conducted a targeted traffic stop on a Dodge Caravan. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in officers seizing quantities of carfentanil and cocaine along with drug trafficking paraphernalia, $755 in cash and a pair of homemade brass knuckles.
Following further investigation, police obtained and executed a search warrant at a westside home along Purdue Court and seized approximately 171 grams of methamphetamine, 185 grams of carfentanil, 107 grams of cocaine, a small quantity of psilocybin, counterfeit currency, stolen clothing and a 12-gauge shotgun.
The Lethbridge Police Service confirms the drugs seized had an approximate street value of $95,000.
Armande John Good Rider, 22, of Lethbridge, is charged with three counts of trafficking a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm, obtaining a firearm in the commission of an offence, possession of counterfeit currency, possession of stolen property and possession of the proceeds of crime.
Good Rider is remanded in custody and scheduled to appear in court today.
