A 22-year-old man accused of pointing a firearm at store employees made his first appearance Wednesday in Lethbridge provincial court.
David Guenther Krahn appeared by closed-circuit TV from the Lethbridge Correctional Centre, where he has been remanded since his arrest Oct. 30.
Police reported that on the evening of Oct. 29 a man walked into the Shoppers Drug Mart in the 100 block of Columbia Boulevard West and pointed a firearm at employees. Police said the man was unhappy with the service he received, left the store, but returned shortly afterward with the gun.
The suspect fled before police arrived, but after receiving a tip they arrested a man the following day in the downtown area. A weapon was also seized.
Krahn is charged with possession of a dangerous weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, uttering threats, use of a firearm while committing an offence and pointing a firearm.
The accused, who was represented Wednesday by an agent for his lawyer, is scheduled to return to court Friday.
