Two people accused of breaking into a city business earlier in the
week are scheduled to appear in court next month.
David Andrew Ferreira and Connie Iqaluk Pudluk have been ordered to
attend Lethbridge provincial court Dec. 18 on a charge of break and
enter and theft.
At about 10:10 p.m. Tuesday Lethbridge police were dispatched to a
complaint of a break-in at Kirk’s Tire on 22 Street North. The
complainant reported a man jumped the fence to the business’s
compound and stole rims from a bin in the compound. The complainant
was able to video the two people as they removed the vehicle rims from
the compound.
Police officers found a man and woman in a parking lot on the north
side of the compound and discovered a Volkswagen Jetta with a small
utility trailer parked nearby. Several vehicle rims belonging to
Kirk’s Tire were in the back of the utility trailer.
David Andrew Ferreira, 42, of no fixed address, and Connie Iqaluk
Pudluk, 36, also of no fixed address, are charged with break, enter
and theft. Ferreira was released by a justice of the peace shortly
after his arrest on $100 bail, while Pudluk chose to remain in
custody. However, during a brief court hearing Friday she changed her
mind and was released on $100 bail with conditions that she stay away
from Kirk’s Tire and not possess any weapons.
