A Lethbridge choral ensemble is ready to bring “Joy to the World” next Tuesday.

Caritas will include secular and Christmas selections during its 7:30 p.m. concert at Southminster United Church.

Directed by Frank Gnandt, the community choir will present exciting Christmas arrangements from the Florida a capella group Voctave, including “Joy to the World,” “All Is Well” and “Go Tell It On The Mountain.”

Guest artist Mark Rodgers will be featured on cello in the symphonic arrangement of “Serenity (O Magnum Mysterium)” and a beautiful new setting of “Silent Night” by Dan Forrest.

Gnandt says the program will also include works from a new album by Voces8, a British vocal ensemble, including “The Sun Never Says” and a beautiful setting for the Scottish folk ballad “Caledonia.”

“A Caritas concert is always intended to be challenging for the singers, and meaningful and inspirational for the listener,” he says.

Caritas is “devoted to musical excellence but also offers its singers a place of great joy in weekly rehearsals.”

Tickets for its Advent presentation, available at the door, will be priced at $10 for adults, $5 for children.
