Cirque du Soleil is bringing a new ice spectacle to Lethbridge.
The July 16-19 event will feature “Axel” and his band “as they take on a new journey inspired by music and graphic arts.”
Promoters say the new production features spectacular skating, breathtaking acrobatics on ice, astonishing visual effects and an upbeat original soundtrack. It’s set for seven performances at the Enmax Centre.
A young graphic artist and musician, “Axel” dives into his hand-drawn universe as he falls in love with the captivating Lei – that’s the story line. Together they jet off on a fast-moving quest to retrieve the stolen light from the supervillain V•.
Cirque du Soleil “AXEL” audiences will hear the music serving as a narrative thread guiding its characters and audiences as they journey with Axel and Lei “to discover that true love shines even brighter that the most radiant star.”
Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Wednesday online at http://www.enmaxcentre.ca or by phone at 403- 329-7328 or in person at the Enmax or the Yates Centre. Advance tickets are already on sale to Club Cirque members at cirqueclub.com.
