In an effort to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympic Athletes Alberta, law enforcement’s finest will be bringing their skills in serving at Boston Pizza for the one-night event, Cops, Pops and Pizza.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run is hosting the event, in partnership with Boston Pizza, to serve the public from 4-8 p.m. on Friday. Special Olympic athletes will also be joining them to serve patrons and collect donations to support programs for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Alberta will take place Friday at Boston Pizza, 2041 Mayor Magrath Dr. S., where the community is invited to have dinner and donate to the cause.

Internationally the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics is the largest grassroots fundraiser and awareness vehicle for Special Olympics, with more than 85,000 law enforcement officers throughout North America fundraising for Special Olympics. Last year in Alberta, over $600,000 was raised, benefitting many of the Special Olympic local programs.

Special Olympics Alberta caters to all ages and a wide range of abilities to over 3,300 athletes and provide world-class sports programs that are run daily by 950 volunteers and coaches. If you are unable to make it to the Cops, Pops, and Pizza event on Friday, donations are always accepted through specialolympics.ca.
