Fatal collision suspect turns himself in

By Mabell, Dave on December 26, 2019.

A suspect in a fatal collision earlier this month has surrendered to police.

Fort Macleod RCMP say 19-year-old Tristan Big Sorrel Horse turned himself him on Sunday after a warrant had been issued for his arrest.

Police say Big Sorrel Horse had been involved in a collision resulting in the death of the passenger in the vehicle on Dec. 15. After they were unable to locate the Glenwood man, they issued the warrant.

He is now facing charges of dangerous driving causing death, failing to remain at the scene of an accident resulting in death and operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited.

The suspect was being held in custody while awaiting a bail hearing. The date for his first court appearance is yet to be determined.
