An Edmonton band described as “a driving force on the Prairie Celtic scene” will perform Saturday in Lethbridge.
Celtara will be the featured act at the Lethbridge Folk Club, with music starting at 8 p.m. in The Cave at Lethbridge College.
Over the last 14 years, the five-member band has drawn on influences from Norway, Sweden and Britain as well as Scotland and Ireland to create an original “Canadiana Celtic” sound.
Fiddle, guitar, flute, accordion, piano and percussion blend with their “full bodied” vocals, fans say. Celtara recently released a new album, “Seven Long Years.”
Opening Saturday’s concert will be music from local performers Kavanagh and Hepher.
Tickets will be available at the door.
