County deferring utility penalties for the next 90 days

By Jensen, Randy on April 3, 2020.

LETHBRIDGE HERALD

In following the province’s recently announced 90-day deferral on all utility penalties, Lethbridge County will not charge penalties on utility accounts for the next 90 days, which began Wednesday, and will accept late payments for the same time period. Additionally, water shut offs will not be done for the next 90 days.

The County notes payments have not been cancelled and accounts will still require payment. The County is encouraging customers to pay their water bills when they come due, but if they are unable to pay, they will have an additional 90 days to pay without penalty or late fees.

Lethbridge County staff are available for assistance with utility accounts by calling (403) 328-5525 Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
