Among many of the businesses in the community making the decision to close their doors to the public due to COVID-19, bottle recycling depots in Lethbridge are among them.

Since the community highly utilizes bottle recycling, Green’s Pop Shop has found an alternative way to continue to provide its services to the public, while supporting the local food banks.

In partnership with the Lethbridge Food Bank and Interfaith Food Bank, bottles are accepted at each food bank location, Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to noon, as well as the northside GPS container depot location from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Bottles are picked up from the food banks by Green’s Pop Shop, processed and monetary proceeds are donated to the food banks. Funds donated will be used to purchase necessary food items for emergency hampers.

Lethbridge Food Bank, Interfaith Food Bank and Green’s Pop Shop are encouraging residents to continue to recycle during this isolation period, while supporting local food banks during this pandemic. If you are considering dropping off bottles and cans to support the food banks, they ask that participants call the food banks beforehand to receive the drop-off instructions.
