LETHBRIDGE HERALD

Members of the Lethbridge Police Crime Suppression Team earlier this week charged four people with drug offences after methamphetamine, fentanyl and cocaine were seized from a westside home.

In late April the CST initiated an investigation into drug trafficking activity at a home along the 700 block of Columbia Boulevard West in response to public complaints. Last Saturday a search warrant was obtained and executed which resulted in police arresting seven people inside the home and seizing quantities of methamphetamine, fentanyl and cocaine. The drugs have an estimated street value of approximately $7,500. In addition, police located two children inside the home – ages 12 and 15 – and seized brass knuckles, a butterfly knife and nearly $800 in cash.

According to a police release, a 45-year-old Lethbridge man is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, one count of possession of stolen property and causing a child to be drug-endangered.

A 38-year-old Lethbridge man is charged with possession of a controlled substance and two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon.

A 28-year-old Lethbridge man is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime.

An 18-year-old Lethbridge woman is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

The accused have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear in court July 24. Their names are being withheld to protect the identity of the children who reside in the home.

Three other subjects, who were arrested at the scene, were released without charges.
