LETHBRIDGE

Lethbridge Police are seeking assistance to identify a male and female who stole thousands of dollars worth of perfume from local Shopper’s Drug Mart stores.

On Tuesday between 4:30 p.m. and 7:40 p.m. a male and female stole high-end perfume from the Park Place mall, Columbia Boulevard, Mayor Magrath Drive and 26 Avenue North Shopper’s Drug Mart stores totalling approximately $13,000. Investigation determined the male would enter the store first and distract staff, while the female would fill a basket with perfume. The couple would then transfer the bottles to the female’s bag and leave the store.

It is believed the female’s bag contained a demagnetizing device as security sensors were not set off. Similar incidents have taken place in other Shopper’s Drug Mart stores across the province.

Anyone who recognizes the subjects or has information on their whereabouts is asked to call police at 403-328-4444.
