Over the years, since the first issuance of commemorative stamps, there were stamps related to the medical profession.

During the present pandemic, we recognized the first responders, nurses and doctors. A lot of these types of individuals have been recognized by the Canadian post office over the last century. Postage stamps have been issued for various medical organizations, as well as certain prominent individuals who contributed greatly to medicine and the history of Canada.

Shown here are different Canadian stamps depicting the diverse areas of doctors, nurses, paramedics and other health-care workers, including Doctor Norman Bethune, who was also famous in China and was honoured there with a joint Canada/China issue.
