A 37-year-old Lethbridge man is facing charges following a short-term Lethbridge Police investigation into drug activity.

The investigation was initiated earlier this month in partnership with SCAN and culminated in the execution of a search warrant by Patrol and Crime Suppression Team members on Wednesday at a home along the 100 block of 19 Street North. Several occupants were arrested on scene and police seized an imitation firearm, a small quantity of fentanyl, drug paraphernalia and stolen property including driver’s licences, a birth certificate, a health care card, cheque and bank/credit cards.

Jason Shawn Cranston, 37, is charged with possession of a firearm while prohibited, five counts of possession of identity document, three counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000, two counts of use/trafficking in a stolen credit card and possession of a controlled substance. He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 6.

A female, who was arrested at the scene, is not facing fresh charges, but was dealt with on outstanding warrants. Several other people who were initially arrested at the home were released without charges.
