LETHBRIDGE HERALD

Has stress from the COVID-19 pandemic got your goat?

Now there’s an opportunity for a goat to help you relieve your stress.

The Lethbridge Cornmaze and Petting Zoo located north of Park Lake is offering goat snuggling on Fridays and Saturdays starting this week.

Cornmaze owners Theo and Esther Slingerland have 49 baby goats who are ready to snuggle. They are very social animals and love interacting with people, they say.

Four areas have been set up with three or four goats each to snuggle with people.

Each session will be one hour per group with up to five people for $30. People can stay an extra half an hour and enjoy the other animals and activities in the yard.

A portion of the proceeds from goat snuggling will go to the Lethbridge Food Bank.

People will be able to book sessions on the Cornmaze website http://www.lethbridgecornmaze.com starting Friday.

Event organizers are following COVID-19 health protocols for the safety of visitors and staff. The petting zoo will be open Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The cornmaze will open starting July 31 and run until the end of October.
