Former Alberta premier Jim Prentice was among four passengers who died in the crash of a small plane near Kelowna, B.C., Thursday night, according to news reports.
CBC News says Prentice, 60, was aboard a Cessna Citation destined for the Springbank Airport outside Calgary when it went down at about 10:30 p.m. Thursday shortly after taking off from Kelowna. Prentice, a former federal Conserative cabinet minister, served as Alberta premier from September 2014 to May 2015 before the provincial Tories were defeated by Rachel Notley’s NDP party.
