THORHILD, Alta. – Charges have been laid in the death of a teenage girl who was on a school bus involved in a collision with a transport truck.
Maisie Watkinson, who was 15, died on March 7 when the bus was hit from behind while taking students to school in Thorhild, about 85 kilometres north of Edmonton.
Fourteen people were assessed at the crash scene, but no one was taken to hospital.
RCMP say Sukhdeep Deol of Edmonton has been charged with dangerous driving causing death and criminal negligence causing death.
The 40-year-old is not in custody and is to appear in Fort Saskatchewan provincial court on Aug. 2.
Police say no further information will be provided.
