Three runs in the sixth inning propelled the Melville Millionaires to a 5-2 victory over the Lethbridge Bulls in Western Major Baseball League play Wednesday night in Melville.
Edarian Williams hit a two-run home run in the sixth-inning rally as the Millionaires built on a 2-1 lead.
Williams, Nate Doleman and Justin Braziel all two hits for Melville.
Trailing 5-1 through six innings, Lethbridge had a chance to climb back into things after three consecutive one-out walks by Melville pitching in the top of the seventh, but a Grant Schmidt sacrifice fly was the only damage.
Ashton Roy hit a solo home run for the Bulls in the first inning for a brief 1-0 lead, but it was one of only three hits on the night for Lethbridge.
Joey Walls countered with an RBI single in the bottom of the inning for the Millionaires. Keaton Sullivan struck for an RBI triple in the fifth inning to snap the tie.
Andrew Grieder started and worked four innings for the Bulls, allowing one run on five hits and three walks. Kai Poffenroth then was touched up for three runs over an inning and a third.
Tyler Ulrich pitched six and one-third innings of three-hit ball for Melville, allowing two runs.
The loss dropped the Bulls to 13-20 on the season, while Melville improved to 10-22.
Lethbridge plays in Okotoks on Friday, before hosting Moose Jaw Saturday (7:05 p.m.) and Sunday (2:05 p.m.) at Spitz Stadium.
