The Alberta Wolf Pack’s Canadian U20 Championship title had a distinct University of Lethbridge Pronghorns rugby presence.

Pronghorns Keegan Brantner, Sara Cline, Sydney De La Mare, Charlie Mitchell and Caitlin Sears were all part of the Wolf Pack’s roster that won the gold medal in Saskatoon thanks to a 26-20 win over Team Quebec in the final last weekend.

Brantner, who was named a Canada West All-Star in 2017, De La Mare and Sears finished their second seasons with the Pronghorns. Cline and Mitchell were freshmen last fall.

Wolf Pack opened with a 20-17 win over Nova Scotia before defeating British Columbia 49-12. In their final preliminary game the Wolf Pack downed Ontario 17-5.

Sears was the top scorer among her Horns teammates, kicking three converts in four games. De La Mare and Cline each scored one try.

The Pronghorns will open training camp for the 2018 season Aug. 16.
