Lethbridge speed skaters ranked

After playing the role of hosts at the Bridge Bolt Feb. 23-24 at the ATB Centre, several members of the Lethbridge Speed Skating Association have raced into the top 10 in Alberta.

The Alberta Amateur Speed Skating Association released rankings for all skaters in the province Friday after the second Canada West qualifier held in Lethbridge.

Lethbridge skaters are ranked as follows: Denise Wesseling (T2T 11 Female, 8th), Mikka Eaves (T2T 12 Female, 2nd), Jasmine Sinclair (T2T 13 Female, 8th), Preslee Muller (T2T 14 Female, 4th). In the T2T 12 Male category, Braeden Kremenik was ranked third, Jonnathan McIntosh fourth, Easton Ogilvie eighth, Carson Love ninth and Jared Belisle 20th.

Riley Vanderburgh (6th) and Mitchell Wesseling (12th) were ranked in the T2T 13 Male division.

The Canada West Alberta Team is in the process of being confirmed and will be announced prior to March 13.

The Canada West Short Track Championships brings together the best skaters in the Training to Train stage of development for the provinces of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia and the territories of Yukon and Northwest Territories.

Over 150 skaters participated at the event representing clubs from Grande Prairie, Edmonton, Calgary, Red Deer, Rocky Mountain House, Medicine Hat in Alberta and Regina and Melville, Saskatchewan.
