Members of the Queen’s University Gaels of Kingston will be paying tribute to a former member of the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns men’s hockey team.

During the 2019 Cavendish Farms U SPORTS University Cup Men’s Hockey National Championship, members of Queen’s will be wearing Brock Hirsche stickers on their helmets honouring the former Pronghorns captain who passed away in April of last year after a two-year battle with testicular cancer.

Sean Maclean of Lethbridge came up with the idea for the stickers shortly after Hirsche’s death. The stickers were then designed by Jared Leblanc.

Maclean’s older brother, Patrick, goes to law school with Gaels’ captain Spencer Abraham.
