Elks win a preseason pair
The Lethbridge AA Elks opened their season with two exhibition wins last weekend.
The Elks topped the Badlands Badgers in a double-header at Spitz Stadium with 8-5 and 4-2 wins.
In the first game, Skylar Braun, Logan King and Ty Wevers each had two hits, while Ryley Chalack earned the win on the hill.
The Elks completed with a winning performance from pitcher Noah Wauters.
This weekend, the Elks head down the road to Vauxhall for the Vauxhall Tournament Friday to Monday.
The following weekend they’re in Medicine Hat for the Medicine Hat Tournament May 31 to June 2.
Lethbridge opens the American Legion season June 4 against the Medicine Hat Monarchs in Medicine Hat.
The Elks hold their home opener June 7, also against the Monarchs at 7 p.m. at Spitz Stadium.
The Elks host their annual Mary Oikawa Tournament June 14-16 at Spitz Stadium.
The Lethbridge Miners A team are at home this weekend as they host the annual Ron Matthews Tournament Thursday to Sunday and start their American Legion season on the road May 25 in a double-header with the Tri-County Cardinals.
The Miners host their first home games of the season May 27 when the Fort Macleod Royals pay a visit for a double-header at Spitz Stadium starting at 5 p.m.
