A three-shot improvement in his second round put Brennan Tailfeathers in the running at the 2019 MJT Humber College PGM Classic on the weekend.
As the Maple Leaf Junior Tour heads into the summer, the 15-year-old Lethbridge golfer carded a score of 74 Monday after an opening-round 77 Sunday at the Fairmont Banff Springs GOlf Club for a two-day total of 151, good for a tie for sixth place in the Juvenile Boys division.
Tailfeathers finished five shots behind Juvenile winner Tommy McKenzie of Calgary.
Fellow Lethbridge golfer Rylie Seaman finished tied for 13th with a two-day score of 155 (77, 78) and Spence Matson wasn’t far behind in 17th (79, 81-160).
Lethbridge’s Braeden Petro placed 23rd in the Juvenile division with 165 and Coaldale Ethan Meyer (180) was 31st.
In the Peewee boys division, Taber’s Lyndon Kuryvial was 10th with a two-day total of 181.
Fellow Taber golfer Alex Makarchuk posted a 175 to place 19th in the Bantam boys division.
The next Alberta stop on the Maple Leaf Tour is the MJT Mini Tour/Ford Series at the EQ Calgary Douglasdale Golf Club on Sunday.
