Cudas feast on a key win

The Lethbridge Bert & Macs Cudas Junior B Tier I Lacrosse team ended their weekend with a key win and some big points.

The Cudas downed the Edmonton Warriors 13-9 in Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League play Sunday afternoon in Edmonton.

The win caps off a 1-1 weekend following an 8-6 Cudas loss to the St. Albert Crude Saturday in St. Albert.

Sunday’s win improves the Cudas to 3-14-1, putting them two points behind the Okotoks Marauders for the third-and-final playoff spot in the RMLL South Division.

On Sunday, Jaxson Geddes led Lethbridge with five goals and affililated player Carter Cook added two.

Cale Krauss, Cole Tait, Jamie Kukucha, Nolan Delauw, Conner Cook and Ritch Jacklynn scored singles for the Cudas.

The Crude scored four goals in the first and second periods on their way to Saturday’s win over the Cudas. Mark Federkeil scored twice for Lethbridge. Kukucha, Geddes, Tait and Delauw added one each.

The Cudas are on the road Friday when they travel to Okotoks to face the Marauders. Lethbridge is back at Henderson Arena Saturday when they play the Sherwood Park Outlaws at 6 p.m.
