The Lethbridge College Kodiaks men’s basketball team stayed undefeated in Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference weekend play.
In their only game of the weekend, the Kodiaks beat the Medicine Hat Rattlers 94-66 Saturday night at the Val Matteotti Gymnasium to move to 5-0 and into a tie for first place in the ACAC South Division with the SAIT Trojans.
In the women’s game, the Kodiaks lost 61-50 to the Rattlers. With the loss, Lethbridge is 3-2 and in a six-way tie for first in the South Division.
Chase Bohne paced the Kodiaks in the men’s game with 26 points as all five starters topped 10 points.
Orin Porter scored 14 points, Chris Thomson added 13 and Brock Dewsbery and Jaxon Davidson each had 11.
Bohne also had seven steals and seven assists.
In the women’s game, Denajha Kie had 15 points for the Kodiaks. Kirsten Barwegen had seven rebounds and four assists.
The Kodiaks hit the road this weekend.
They’re in Olds to take on the Broncos Friday and head to Red Deer Saturday.
Bohne’s 21.6 points-per-game has him fifth in the ACAC. Dewsbery isn’t far behind in seventh place with 20.6. Dewsbery is also 11-for-19 from three-point range for a 57.9 percentage, fourth best in the ACAC.
Bohne is also third in the league in assists-per-game with 6.4, Timothy McMahon is tied for fourth with 6.
Kie is averaging 16 points-per-game and is tied for eighth in the conference.
Natalie Hoyt has hit 16 of 18 free throws and is ranked second in the ACAC at 88.9 per cent. Barwegen is ninth in rebounds-per-game with 8.4.
