LSAA competes at Edmonton Fall Classic

The Lethbridge Speed Skating Association has kept busy over the last two weeks.

The club sent 11 skaters to the Edmonton Fall Classic Nov. 9-11 and the week before had three skaters compete at the Red Deer Short Track Meet.

In Edmonton, Mikka Eaves place fourth in Division 1, T2T female division.

Denise Wesseling (10th in Division 3, T2T female), Braeden Kremenik (11th in Division 1, T2T male), Ethan Jacobson (12th in Division 1, T2T male), Jonathan McIntosh (13th in Division 1, T2T male), Riley Vanderburgh (15th in Division 1, T2T male), Zak Adelman (13th in Division 2, T2T male), Mitchell Wesseling (16th in Division 2, T2T male), Gavin Ogilvie (seventh in L2T Division 1), Zoe Wesseling (sixth in L2T Division 2) and Zosia Adelman (ninth in L2T Division 3) were the other local results.

Nearly 130 skaters from Alberta, Saskatchewan, British Columbia, Manitoba and the Northwest Territories competed at the two-day event in L2T (Learning-to-Train) and Open Divisions and three-day event for T2T (Training-to-Train) skaters.

The meet was the first of two qualifiers for Alberta T2T skaters to attend the Canada West Short Track Championships which in Selkirk, Man., in March.

In Red Deer, Zoe Wesseling took second in Division 6, while Denise Wesseling was seventh in Division 4. Mitchell Wesseling placed 15th in Division 1.
