Kodiaks volleyball at home this weekend

The Lethbridge College Kodiaks men’s and women’s teams return home this weekend for Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference action.

The Kodiaks welcome the Red Deer Kings and Queens to the Val Matteotti Gymnasium tonight with the women’s game slated for 6 p.m. and the men to follow at 8 p.m.

The Kodiak men are on a seven-game winning streak at 7-1 and two points behind the 8-1 SAIT Trojans for first in the South Division. The Kings are 6-2.

On the women’s side, the Kodiaks look to shrug off a four-game losing streak as they take on the 6-2 Queens.

In Canada West play, the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns men’s and women’s hockey teams face Calgary Dinos in a home-and-home series.

The 4-8-0-0 men host the Dinos tonight at 7 p.m. at Nicholas Sheran Arena. The Horns women (6-5-0-1) return home Saturday to take on the Dinos at 7 p.m. after opening the weekend in Calgary tonight.

In basketball, the Pronghorns men and women are in Abbotsford, B.C. to face the Fraser Valley Cascades.

The Pronghorns women are on a five-game winning streak that has improved them to 5-1, while the men are 2-4.

The Cascades women are 2-2, while the men’s team is also 2-2.

Game time tonight is 6 p.m. for the women and 8 p.m. for the men.
