Skinner gets the call from the Oilers
Former Lethbridge Hurricanes goaltender Stuart Skinner got the callup to his hometown NHL team.
Skinner was recalled by the Edmonton Oilers from the team’s American Hockey League affiliate Bakersfield Condors Sunday on an emergency basis with Oilers goaltender Mike Smith day-to-day with a leg injury.
Skinner backed up Oilers goaltender Mikko Koskinen as the Oilers faced the Vancouver Canucks Sunday night in Vancouver.
The Oilers selected Skinner in the third round and 78th overall in the 2017 NHL entry draft.
The product of Edmonton played for the Hurricanes from 2014-2018.
