It was another .500 for the Coaldale Copperheads in Heritage Junior Hockey League play last weekend.
The Copperheads lost on the road to start the weekend with a 6-2 loss to the Airdrie Thunder Friday, but bounced back the next night at the Coaldale Sportsplex with a 6-3 win over the Lomond Lakers.
The win and loss keeps the Copperheads in third in the HJHL Southern Division, two points back of the Cochrane Generals.
Thomas Johnson and Isaac Benoit scored for Coaldale Friday night in Airdrie.
Goaltender Ethan Barrows made 27 saves in the loss
The Copperheads scored four goals in the third period Saturday against the Lakers to snap a 2-2 tie after two periods.
Brandyn Howg and Mason Sande scored twice each for Coaldale and Benoit and Tyler Anderson added the other two Copperhead goals.
Benoit added an assist for a two-point night. Barrows kicked out 16 of 19 shots to earn the win.
The Copperheads return to the Coaldale Sportsplex Saturday at 8:30 p.m. against the Strathmore Wheatland Kings.
The team will be assisting Lethbridge Family Services collecting for the Angel Tree Christmas Campaign. Unwrapped toys can be dropped off during the game in the Coaldale Sportsplex lobby.
