The Lethbridge Headwater Bantam AA Hurricanes made the semifinals of their tournament last weekend.
The Canes hosted seven bantam AA teams in the weekend affair, advancing to the final four before losing 4-1 to the eventual tournament champion Strathcona Warriors.
Lethbridge opened the weekend with a 4-3 win over the Lloydminster Blazers Friday night as Ashton Angle, Ryhle Weaselhead, Alex Westlund and Ty Christie scored for the Canes.
The Canes were defeated 5-3 by the Calgary Rangers Saturday morning to fall to 1-1. Brett Hudey, Carter Cunningham and Westlund were the Lethbridge scorers.
The hosts bounced back in their third game with an 8-5 win over Edmonton Saturday night as Cunningham and Christie each had a hat trick. Kieran Inaba and Angle added singles.
The win put the Canes in the semifinals against the Warriors, but Lethbridge fell 4-1.
Dylan Koller and Preston Walker split the goaltending duties for the Hurricanes during the weekend.
The Canes travel to Cranbrook this weekend for a double header with the Hornets.
