Comets still unbeaten after topping Cougars

Raymond Comets improved to 3-0 with a 96-49 win over the Catholic Central Cougars in Southern Alberta Girls Basketball League play Wednesday.

Saige Gibb led all scorers with 26 points for the Comets while Bella Zaremba added 14, followed by Abby Graves with 13. Mataya Francis and Taylor Ralph chipped in with 11 apiece.

Claire Talbot and Gracyn Hay replied with 10 each for the Cougars (1-3).

In junior varsity play, Raymond outlasted CCH 68-62 as Francis dropped in 28 points, Ivory Romeril had 14 and Drew Armener 11.

Kiara Jankowiak topped CCH with 17 points and Avorie Henderson added 11.

In other action, Cardston Cougars hit the win column (1-2) with a 69-36 victory over the Chinook Coyotes (0-4).

Tylor Merrill led the Cougars with 15 points and Jenna Shaw added nine.

Sierra Harms and Teagan Viney replied with seven each for the Coyotes.

Cardston downed Chinook 60-48 in the JV game as Kiara Rabbit scored 12 points and Blakely Shaw added 10.

Mitaya Penner and Megan Lea replied with 14 and 13 points respectively for Chinook.
