Bantam AA Headwater Hurricanes ended 2019 with a two-game road loss against the Olds Grizzlys and the Airdrie Lightning.
On Saturday, the Hurricanes lost 5-3 to the league-leading Grizzlies. Aston Angle and Jaxson Nault both had a goal and assist and Dayton Tailfeathers scored the other goal. Nolan Wytrykusz had two assists with Brett Hudey and Easton Banda with one assist each.
Dylan Koller was between the pipes and made 36 saves.
On Sunday, the Hurricanes fell 5-2 to Airdrie in a penalty-filled game.
Scoring for the Canes was Angle with assists going to Brett Hudey and Ryan Neufeld. Tailfeathers added a goal late in the third with helpers going to Daillon Kryzanowski and Angle.
Preston Walker faced 40 faced shots while Airdrie goaltender turned away 36 of 38 shots.
The Canes remain third in the South Division with a record of 6-10-6 for 18 points.
Canes return to action Jan. 4 and 5 when they visit the Okotoks Oilers and Foothills Bisons.
