The University of Lethbridge Pronghorns ringette team are off to a 5-0 start at the University Challenge Cup in Waterloo, Ont.
The Horns defeated Ottawa 4-2 Sunday on Day 3 to stay undefeated at the 15-team tournament. A scoresheet was unavailable at press time.
The Horns added two more wins on Day 2 of play Saturday, defeating Laurentian University 7-1 and Western University 8-2.
In the win over Laurentian University, Rylie Hart scored three goals for the Pronghorns. Katie Welsh, Sarah Hall, Sophie Tsougrianis and Perri Mazurkewich scored once each for Lethbridge.
Horn goaltender Mackenzie Cameron faced 11 shots.
Welsh and Alyssa Hall each had a hat trick in the win over Western University. Arica Martin and Mazurkewich added singles for the Pronghorns.
Anna Free stopped 20 shots in the win for the Pronghorns.
In the opening day Friday, the Horns beat Laurier University 7-3 and McMaster University 11-0.
Hart and Alyssa Hall each scored twice against Laurier University, while Hall, Tsougrianis and Welsh scored once each.
Cameron made 17 saves in the win.
Free earned the shutout with 21 saves against McMaster University.
Tsougrianis, Hart and Welsh each scored twice and Mazurkewich, Morgan Randolph, Ali Fournier, Ashlyn Dey and Hall all added singles.
