Pronghorns edged in ringette final

The University of Lethbridge Pronghorns ringette team fell one goal shy of a national championship.

The Horns dropped a 5-4 overtime decision to Brock University in the gold-medal game of the University Challenge Cup Tuesday in Waterloo, Ont.

In a wild finish to regulation, the Horns took a 4-3 lead with 59 seconds to go on a goal from Riley Hart, but Brock scored with 15 seconds left to force overtime.

Brock then scored the gold-medal winner with four minutes left in overtime.

Hart and Sophie Tsougrianis each scored twice for the Pronghorns.

Goaltender Mackenzie Cameron faced 26 shots.

The Pronghorns played nine games in five days to come in second in the nation.
