CFL commissioner Johnston unveils new league, team websites in first Grey Cup address

WINNIPEG — Commissioner Stewart Johnston says the CFL will overhaul its digital operation with new league and team websites.

The overhaul was one of three league initiatives for next season Johnston announced Friday in his first Grey Cup gathering with reporters.

The league’s website crashed during the 2025 CFL draft, just Johnston’s third day on the job.

It did so again on the opening exhibition game of the season.

Unreliable league statistics were also an issue early in 2025.

Johnston also announced the league will develop a new CFL app and introduce a season-long fantasy football game.
