Trump’s invasion threats violate international law: Canadian ambassador

By Canadian Press on February 10, 2025.

PARIS — The Canadian ambassador to France says threats by U.S. President Donald Trump to invade another country violate international law.

Stéphane Dion says such threats are not normal and violate the UN Charter.

Trump has said he wouldn’t rule out using military force to take over Greenland, which is part of Demark.

Trump also said again Sunday that he wants to see Canada become a U.S. state, after being asked about Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s recent comments saying that Trump is not joking.

The U.S. president is expected to formally announce 25 per cent tariffs on all steel and aluminum imports on Monday, including those coming from Canada.

Dion says Canada and European countries are working on a cohesive strategy to address tariff threats from the United States.

Who Dionne. He of the last attempted coup against Harper. Fully supports the current prorogue, whenever resignation, no parliament, no call for an election. Get lost in your cushy little job in France. Nice payment wasn’t it. Did I forget that he is probably drooling over Carney.
