Football has long been in Ted Goveia’s blood. Some facts about the Hamilton Tiger-Cats’ first-year general manager:

Hometown: Burlington, Ont.

Playing career: Offensive lineman at Mount Allison University (1991-93).

Coaching tenure: Offensive co-ordinator, Mount Allison (1994-97); head coach Burlington Braves (1998-2000); receivers/running back coach/special-teams co-ordinator, McMaster University (2001-04); Offensive co-ordinator University of British Columbia (2005); head coach, UBC (2006-09); running backs coach, Toronto Argonauts (2010-11).

Administrator: recruiting co-ordinator, Mount Allison (1994-97) and McMaster (2001-04); director of Canadian scouting (2011-12), player-personnel director (2013), Toronto Argonauts; assistant GM/player-personnel director, Winnipeg Blue Bombers (2013-19), senior assistant GM/player-personnel director (2020-24); Hamilton Tiger-Cats GM, hired Dec. 5, 2024.
