Lethbridge Hurricanes forward Miguel Marques returned to the line-up on March 12 after missing 36 games with an upper body injury and is feeling  good as he works his way back into game shape.

“I feel pretty good obviously,” said Marques.

“Just trying to get my feet under me and I’m playing with some pretty good players that are  helping me get the puck and (helping) me ease back into things, so it’s been really good.”

He wants to get back to a full stride in his 200-foot game before playoffs starts.

“That’s kind of the biggest thing (is) making sure I’m cutting guys off back checking and kind of doing the little things that Bill talks about,” said Marques.

Marques said it was a long process.

“Obviously needed to undergo some stuff, and then obviously the rehab process, (and) not knowing when I was going to be back or how long the process was going to be,” said Marques.

“It was kind of tough being on the edge like that. So kind of finally finding out that I was going to be back and starting practice and stuff like that, that was good and to finally get the nod to play games has been awesome.”

Watching the games from the press box gave him a chance to see the game in different areas.

“So it was really good to kind of be able to  watch and kind of see how these teams play,” said Marques.

“I took some notes and kind of just got that at the back of the mine.”

Canes associate head coach Matt Anholt thinks Marques needs to continue to increase his pace.

“I think for a guy that skates like him, you know you’re not gonna have a lot of time and space, but you gotta create it by skating as fast as you can and making plays as fast as you can,” said Anholt.

Marques has four points  (two goals and two assists) in three games since his return.
