Deep South Basketball recognizes its all-stars

The Deep South Basketball league for local area high schools wrapped up their season with  All-Star Games on both the varsity girls and boys sides  and an awards night at Immanuel Christian Secondary School on Wednesday night.

The senior varsity boys MVP went to Stirling’s Lincoln Stasiuk.

First Team All-Stars: Josh Deng (Winston Churchill) Dimitri Veenendaal (Coaldale Christian), Benson Leishman (W.R. Myers), Sebastian Hoekstra (Taber Christian) and Liam Anderson (Chinook High School). 

Second Team: Darren Mackay (Coaldale Christian), Hayden McClung (Willow Creek), Tristan Layton (Prairie Winds), Owen Senneker (Coaldale Christian and Lamiek Abraham (Winston Churchill).

As for the girls side, Hayden Van’t Land of Immanuel Christian won MVP.

First Team All-Stars: Zoe Michelson (Stirling High School), Logan Meier (Taber Christian), Ava Michelson (Stirling), Lilly Bennett (W.R. Myers), Maia Rossworm (Immanuel Christian) and Naamiya Hoekstra (Taber Christian.

Second Team: Yar Biar (Immanuel Christian), Morgen McClenaghan (WR Myers), Mylee Pitcher (Prairie Winds), Jolene Wurz (WR Myers) and Ashlyn Doeve (Coaldale Christian.
