The Prairie Baseball Academy Dawgs didn’t have much go their way in terms of the win column as they were only able to take one of three games off the TRU Wolfpack over the weekend at home.
PBA opened Saturday’s triple header with a 5-2 loss, followed by a 9-3 win in the second game and were edged 8 -7 in the finale.
Nate Garth hit a two-run home run in the seventh inning to get PBA’s runs in the first game, while Jack Hudson pitched six innings, allowing four runs on eight hits and striking out three batters.
Will Turner led the way in the second game for PBA, as he went 2-for-4 at the plate, while scoring two runs with a home run and batting in four RBIs.
Jake Maniago pitched a complete game seven innings, while allowing three runs on four hits, striking out three and walking four batters.
It was in the rubber match that Devon Hagel led for the Dawgs after going 2-for-2, scoring two runs and hitting in two RBIs.
Turner followed Hagel by going 3-for-4 at the plate with a run and RBI.
Brayden Dewitt took the loss on the mound for the Dawgs.
Second place PBA (9-6) hosts the first place University of Fraser Valley Cascades (13-3) this weekend for four games.
