The Chinook Coyotes and Catholic Central Cougar high school baseball teams have teamed up to raise funds for the local Boys and Girls Club at their game this afternoon.

“It’s a great non-for-profit that helps support the kids in our community and thought that could be a good fit as we just try to give back with our student-athletes and our league,” said Bruce Carbert, Chinook Coyotes general manager.

The proceeds from either the $2 or by donation gate admission and the barbeque concession will go to the Boys and Girls Club.

Carbert talked about what the students can take from this opportunity

“That affiliation and that attachment for them then is something they can carry forward,” said Carbert .

“So then when there are opportunities potentially to volunteer, or to give time or maybe it’s a matter of support in another way , that they take those opportunities, as our players not only continue through high school but then become adults and contributing community members themselves.”

The game is at  2 p.m. today at Spitz Stadium.
